Sir — This refers to the article, “Islamists block free speech” by Premen Addy (March 2). Geert Wilders’ Fitna, Theo van Gogh’s Submission, and Gregory M Davis’s and Bryan Daly’s Islam: What the West Needs to Know are some of the best documentaries made on Islam. These films show us the other face of Islam which the Muslim negationists, apologists, and propagandists do not want to reveal. Qur’an 9:29 states, ”Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, nor hold that forbidden which hath been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger, nor acknowledge the Religion of Truth, from among the People of the Book, until they pay the Jizyah.” Verses like this command Muslims to fight the non-Muslims until they either completely surrender to Islam or pay the per capita tax. Now, I don’t see any reason to disagree with Mr Wilders when he demands to ban the Qur’an.

Letter to the Editor – Conditions of Brahmins in Tamil Nadu

Sir — This refers to the report ‘Pro-LTTE lawyers, police clash leaves judge hurt’ (February 20). The president of Janata Party Subramanian Swamy, in a phone interview with a prominent English news channel, alleged that those protesters who attacked him with eggs in the court where yelling pro-separatist and anti-Brahmin slogans. This again raises the question of condition of Brahmins in Tamil Nadu. Tamil Brahmins are one of the most oppressed castes in the modern India. There have been open discrimination against them on social and economic levels. The ‘Dravidian’ chauvinists who so aggressively show their sympathy on the conditions of Sri Lankan Tamils have treated their own people in a most disrespectful manner.

The Evil Brij Brahmans of Mathura and Vrindavan

Last week I went to Mathura, Govardhan, Vrindavan and Gokul. The situation of old Arya mandirs there is very bad. The ancient holy temples have now become the business houses of evil priests. These priests or so-called Brahmans leave no stone unturned to rob the money of pilgrims and devotees in the form of daan or donations/charity. There ‘Brahmans’ will abuse you if you do not listen to them and let them perfom prayers for you and donate a handsome sum of money to them.

I felt really bad about what I saw and expereinced in the birthplace of Bhagvan Shri Krishn.

The good Hindu temples are those established by the ISKCON and other ashrams (hermitages) which are not yet controlled by the greedy ‘pandits’.

Letter to the Editor – Muslim Negationism

Muslim intellectuals like MJ Akbar are well-known for presenting the half- truths and lies about the history of India. A couple of months ago Mr Akbar in his speech at Jamia Millia Islamia’s MA Ansari Auditorium said, ”Muslims were first-class citizens in the undivided India. But after the independence (from the British), Muslims became second-class citizens in India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh.” Muslims were the privileged community during the British rule but their condition did not change after the Partition. In fact, Indian Muslims enjoy more rights than their co-religionists in the neighbouring countries.

 

Above all, how come the Muslims in Pakistan and Bangladesh are second-class citizens? Muslims constitute about 97 per cent and 89 per cent of the populations of Pakistan and Bangladesh respectively. The whole world knows that the situation of religious minorities in these countries is miserable. 

 

The ridiculous comments made by the Muslim scholars show that either their community does not want to accept the reality or has decided to live in the self-created universe of negationism.

Talking about Hindi…

I’m a Hindi propagator and that too Sanskritnishth Hindi (Shudh Hindi), not Hindustani Hindi (Arabicized and Persianized Hindi). I hate to watch private Hindi news channels who prefer to utter more Urdu words to impress their Muslim viewers. I’m also a bigger supporter of Sanskrit. It is the only language that can unite our Bharatvarsh.

I believe that every Bharatiya should be able to understand and speak Hindi before Sanskrit is prevailed again. But Hindi should be treated as a second-language by the Tamils, Marathis, Bangalis, and others. Hindi should not be imposed on anybody like English was imposed on us by the British. Just functional knowledge of Hindi is enough.

As far as my knowledge is concerned, nobody hates Hindi except the DMK chauvinists who also hate Sanskrit, Brahmans, North Bharatiya, and even Sanatan Dharm. A common Tamil has no problem with Hindi. I think Tamil people are the staunchesh Hindus. The maximum number of Hindu pilgrims who visit Kashi every year are from the state of Tamil Nadu.

It is the responsibilty of the North Bharatiyas not make fun of broken Hindi spoken by the South Bharatiyas. This ony breeds contempt between two Bharatiyas and Hindus. Hindi-speakers should encourage Tamils to speak Shudh Hindi and Tamils should help North Bharatiyas to understand the Tamil language and literature. The Tamil Sangam literature is one of the finest in the world. It is as good as the Sanskrit literature.

The Islamic Invaders not only destroyed our religion and culture but also polluted our languages, especially Punjabi, Hindi and Kashmiri.

The Sanatan Warriors

I’m not against Kabir and Sai Baba because they criticized certain customs of Sanatana Dharma. I don’t like them because they equated Islam with Sanatana Dharma. It is like comparing barbarism with culture.

The real Hindu heros of later-medieval Bharatavarsha were the great Marathas. They were successful in re-establishing the Hindu Rule in Indraprastha (Delhi) in 1737 CE.

Nobody can forget the achievements of the Vijayanagara Empire. They fought and won against the Islamic Invaders who had occupied the North.

Who are these Sikhs? Nothing but a bumch of Punjabi peasants who left their original religion and became Khalsa. I appreciate the Sikh contribution against the Muslim foreigners. But today, Sikhs are a different community. We should be proud of our own Hindu warriors than those who have left our way of life.

Many of the great Hindu reformers came from the South and the East. Shankaracharya, Ramanuj, Vivekananda, Aurobindo…. I would always say that the real Bharatavarsha is in the South.

Nothern Bharatavarsha was overran by the Yavanas. I may say that I’m a proud Punjabi. But what is Punjab today? Around 75 % of the land is ruled and inhabited by Muslim Pakistanis. “Punjab” itself is a Persian word. Hindus in Northern Bharatavarsha have fought, survived, and won against Islam. But we have lost a lot. The scars of the Islamic oppression are still there. The Punjabi word for God (Bhagavan) is “Rab” which is not only an Arabic word but also one of the names of Allah.

Northerners have to first clean their language before cleansing their land from Mlecchas.
